Bing is still trying to stay in the spotlight as the new year 2016 rolls in. It was announced last year but went into effect over the weekend that Bing’s search results and ads are now being used for the AOL search engine. Bing itself has already broke the 20% search share mark and when you add in Yahoo and AOL they are sitting at 34% in search shares.  This brings them up to one-third of the U.S. PC web searches. With Google holding on to two-thirds of the U.S. PC web search.

Bing has not been the only one of late to take a swing at the mighty giant Google.  Facebook has been there doing its best to also knock this giant down to size. They have done so in the Social Media area and have been seen experimenting quite a bit with a local business search, a search engine that runs a bit like Yelp.

However, whatever the future holds for search, Google is still the top dog and commands more visitors and attention than the others. How long can this company hold the reigns is yet to be seen but, you can bet the year 2016 is going to be a good one. Bring on the new round of search engine wars!
